FIRST RICE-September
The Mission’s Committee was blessed by the response of our congregation to the First Rice drive last November. We collected 1,500 pounds of rice! The rice we collected is almost gone. When Burmese families arrive it takes 7-12 days for them to get a steady source of food. As a mission minded church we want to welcome them with a bag of rice so that they can relax as they begin a new life in America.
FWC will collect rice for four Sundays in September. Please bring 50, 25, 20 or 5 pound bags of rice. (Jasmine rice is very familiar to our arriving Asian refugees.) Look for the designated spot in the foyer this Sunday.
We will be collecting food each month. Watch for a schedule in the bulletin of the foods we will be collecting!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD – MARK YOUR CALENDAR
Here is a local opportunity to touch hearts and change lives of children around the world. Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 4th. More details will follow later. For more information contact Donna at 888-4523.

BAND OF BROTHERS MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP MEETING
This is just a friendly reminder to the men, come join us on Tuesday, September 14 from 6:30-8pm in the Highway Youth Room in the Mall for our monthly Food, Fellowship and Bible Study with other Christian brothers. You will not be disappointed.
Each speaker we have had has been warmly received. This month’s topic is still to be announced, but we’re sure it will be one you won't want to miss!
Invite your brothers, neighbors and friends to come share our fellowship and study the Word with your Band of Brothers. Remember, the Band of Brothers is for ANY man (16 to 116) regardless of your Christian church affiliation. Please join us.

CHURCH REMINDERS
REQUESTS FOR ANOINTING AND SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER TIME
ANOINTING: If you would like to be anointed for a special need, please call the church office and let us know. We will be honored to pray for you at the altar in the minutes leading up the countdown prayer time. Time limits how many we can anoint on a Sunday, but we will do our best to schedule this special prayer.
PRAYER TIME: This is a reminder of our Prayer Initiative we are beginning on Sunday mornings. Continuing this Sunday, we are encouraging you to come pray at the platform during the five minute countdown before the worship service.
You can pray for the service, upcoming events or other needs. This is a wonderful opportunity to come forward and prepare your heart for the morning service.
